Akuacom provides technology and services for Automated Demand Response (Auto-DR). Akuacom’s open and interoperable Smart Grid messaging infrastructure is used by utilities and ISOs to automate the delivery of DR price and reliability signals to aggregators and to commercial and industrial facilities. At the core of the messaging infrastructure is Akuacom’s Demand Response Automation Server, or DRAS, a software as a service platform the fully supports OpenADR.

OpenADR – The Emerging Standard for DR Messages

The OpenADR standard allows any facility to understand utility or ISO DR messages and respond in an automated fashion. OpenADR is a communications data model built upon Internet Standards including XML. Much of the complexity of the DR programs is managed by the DRAS and translated into simple signals for the facility Energy Management System (EMS).

Akuacom is the leader in OpenADR deployments

Akuacom works closely with all three IOUs in California and utilities in two neighboring states to implement Auto-DR within their IT Framework. The programs span small commercial facilities to major industrial operations, and include both summer and winter shed strategies.
